Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IDGSR WELCOMES SILAS INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!!!!
Silas is a XLarge Male Sable in color German Shepherd, Full recovered from his ordeal from the neglect of his previous owner, Silas arrived out of a high kill shelter in TN that had previously been a 99% kill rate.
He came to us with little to no fur, sick and unhealthy. That has all changed and Silas is doing great, he's a healthy robust fella, who loves the outdoors but also loves his big cushy bed. At approx. 6-7 yrs. old, he's a very active fella and not a couch potato by any means.
He knows some commands, walks well on a leash, he does prefer to be the only male dog in the home, no cats but a medium to large female dog is just fine, matter of fact a female that is a bit bossy is ok with him too.
Silas is very sweet, will greet you with kisses when he knows you are his person. Silas will do best with a fenced yard. He is also fine with older kids, small children could easily be knocked over by that happy wagging tail and Silas doesn't always realize how big he is.
If you would like to make this sweet boy a member of your family, please apply with this rescue.
Silas is fostered in TN.
