My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky is a sweet 1 1/2 year old purebred Boxer. If you are looking for a devoted companion you couldn’t find a more faithful boy! He's young and full of energy. We think he'll be best in a home without cats because he thoroughly enjoys chasing them. Rocky is quick to learn and has a reliable sit, high 5, and watch me. His leash walking has improved greatly. He loves to play with other dogs and is working on his meet and greet skills while on a leash; he does tend to fixate a bit on meeting other dogs while on lead. But all and all he is doing wonderfully--he's young and very motivated to learn.
Rocky has had some separation issues, but learned to stay alone in his foster family's home without stress--he is not destructive when left alone. We expect that when he goes to a new home he may at first experience some separation stress, but we believe that with a little work...maybe over a week...he can learn to be left alone without stress. If he has a doggy companion, he may make the adjustment over a weekend.
Rocky will do best in a home with a 6 foot fence, with another dog around his size that he can play with, and someone who will make sure he has the exercise he needs. The ideal home would be with someone who doesn't need to regularly leave him for many hours during the day, or would bring him to a good doggy day care sometimes. (no homes with chickens or ducks)
An adoption donation of $250 is required for Rocky.
