My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

.Orrick is a 1 year old purebred male Border Collie. He is a very sweet, happy boy, that loves to be with people. Orrick does okay with other dogs, although he can be a little shy of new ones but he makes friends quickly. He also loves to play with toys he likes Kongs but will try to tear a tennis ball apart and will even bring them back to you when thrown. He is a quick learner and already knows sit, come, and stay. Orrick is very good about getting in his crate on the command "kennel up," he is very alert and makes a good watchdog he has a particular talent for finding the odd bug or spider and will try to stare it down but don't expect him to do anything about terminating it but he's a good pointer in this regard.

Although he has not yet been tested with children because his current foster family does not have children in the home or have access to children in the family to test how he would react but living with him in the time he's been here we have witnessed no aggression from him at all even when we tried to elicit some. It was recently assumed because Orrick's brother was not good with children that Orrick would be the same but my experience with him doesn't bear out the validity of that assumption and I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt until an adequate child evaluation test can say conclusively but personally I would not count him out for consideration of a family with kids and I think he would play well with them.

Orrick has just had his rear dew claws removed, which is why he has the bandages on his legs in one of his photos. Orrick is being fostered in Des Moines, IA
