Samantha (Sammie for short). She's a black and tan 20 week old dachshund puppy, 9.5 pounds.. AKC, excellent breeding, no papers. Sammie is spayed and fully vetted, and deciduous baby teeth pulled. Sammie is potty trained outside but will use pee pads inside when needed. She does well with other small dogs, unsure about cats as no exposure. Older children are ok. She loves to play with her small tennis balls. She is very gentle and sweet. She was surrendered because the owner had an older dog and thought the puppy would spark the older dog to play but Sammie is just too active for the older dog and they're not getting along. Excellent family doxie needs work with some submissive peeing . Adoption fee $495.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fees cover the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training. Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves?
