You may be wondering what a pup like me is doing on a Golden Retriever website. Well, a few weeks ago I heard my former owners taking about “taking the dog to the rescue lady’s house”. So I figured we were going to have a nice visit. What I didn’t realize was they had a plan to dump me out the door of their truck and drive off! Thankfully, I found Martha, the nice rescue lady, and although I am not a Golden, she couldn’t turn me away!

Martha says I am a sweet dog and I know that must be a great thing because she always says those words to me in the kindest of voices. I am shy when I first meet someone new, but I warm up quickly and enjoy being petted. I get along wonderfully with dogs, both big and small, and I love to play with children. I am about 18 months old and I’m a Dobie mix. I am spayed, up-to-date on my vaccinations, and I am now being treated for heartworm. I hope someone will see my “Golden heart” because I will be ready to go to my forever home in mid-late June and will be available through Peppertree Rescue!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jade, a New Canaan Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in New Canaan, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in New Canaan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Canaan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Canaan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Canaan paves the way for another one to be saved.
