Meet Mister Marivs!

This marvelous looking fellow didn't start out looking this dapper.  When he first appeared at his foster mom's home, he was in terrible shape.  He was very hungry, flea infested, matted coat, and covered with sores and scabs.  Thank goodness his luck started to change the moment his new mom started to take care of him.

Now look what a few months of TLC can do for a fellow.  He loves to be brushed and knows that his gorgeous tail has been compared to a squirrel or a fox tail.  His foster mom says it is more like a magnificent plume.  Darling, he looks marvelous.....

Marvis is a young gentleman (approximately one year old).  He is neutered and fully vetted.  He is affectionate and ready to curl up in an easy chair with you.

If you would like to welcome this fellow into your home, please fill out an application to adopt at He is currently located in eastern Kentucky but out-of-state transportation is available.

About Diamonds In The Ruff - Washington D.C. Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a not for profit organization consisting of a group of dedicated volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter dogs and cats that are in danger of euthanasia. Rual Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia shelters have a constant overflow of healthy adoptable dogs and cats, with little funding and limited space. Once the dog or cat arrives at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these animals, and adopt them out to loving families in the New England area. We do not limit ourselves to any particular breed, as we believe all shelter animals deserve a second chance. We are NOT professionals trainers or animal behaviorists: simply volunteers who are trying to save these dogs and cats from euthanasia.

Our Adoption Process...

Our dogs and cats are fostered in Eastern Kentucky in one of our many experienced foster homes. We have may dogs and cats looking for a loving new home. All of our dogs receive rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo vaccine, bordatella and spay/neuter and are on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. All of our cats have been tested for Feline Leukemia, have received a feline combination vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordatella, spay/neuter and flea control. All of our dogs and cats come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee covers their age appropriate vetting, heartworm/flea preventative, as well as their transportation to your area. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $450.00. The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $300.00.

Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs and cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! Our transport service is certified throught the USDA. We can provide additional photos as well as the contact information to the foster home they are living in. We strive to get good matches for our pets, so that everyone has a long and happy life together!
