A Chip Off The Old Block
Granite is a male solid gray domestic short hair, born on June 3, 2005.
Granite's mother Sarah came to Kitty Corner very pregnant, and shortly after delivered her kittens. Then Sarah became very ill, and one by one her kittens became ill too. Sadly, Granite was Sarah's only kitten to survive the illness. They both recovered nicely, and are ready to join families of their own now.
Granite has one lasting problem from his illness as a newborn - he is partially to totally blind. Our vet cannot assess how much (if any) of his vision remains, but his vision was permanently damaged. Other then his blindness, he is in good health.
Granite is shy around new people, probably because of his blindness. He is happy for attention and cuddles, but usually will not initiate the interactions himself. Although he can be loving to people he knows, he will probably always be a bit shy of new people. Though he does warm up and become friendly once he gets to know you, he will probably not ever become the super-cuddler that his mom Sarah Snuggles is.
Granite gets along well with most other cats. He enjoys but does not require their presence. We feel Granite could do well either as a single cat, or as a companion for a family cat.
Granite would love to find a family of his own, one that would understand his cautious nature and give him time to get to know them. If you have the patience to not expect 'instant love', Granite would like to meet you.
Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 or fill out our adoption application at www.kittycorner.org to meet our adoptable cats and adopt a new member of your family.
Granite tests negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and all shots are up to date.
Kitty Corner has a lifetime return policy. If you adopt a cat or kitten from us and you can't keep it for any reason, we ask that you return it to us. We want to be sure that none of our cats is ever homeless again.
Thank you for looking at our cats!

Rescue Group Info...
At Kitty Corner, we are NOT a shelter. We are "cat rescuers" -- volunteers who live with the rescued cats in our own homes. We provide shelter, veterinary care and a chance for a new life in a loving home for cats who have been abandoned or who never had a home at all due to the overwhelming number of homeless pets.
We are all volunteers and 100% of every donation is used for the care of the cats.
When a cat first comes to us, they are briefly caged and isolated until they see our vet. They are checked for parasites and diseases. We provide vaccinations and any other veterinary care they may need. We also spay or neuter any cat who is old enough.
The healthy, altered cats are then evaluated for personality and placed in one of our four "cat rooms". When necessary, we work to overcome behavior or emotional problems so that the cat will be a happy, adoptable pet.
We try to match each cat with the person or family for whom it is best suited. The happiness of the cat and its new "people" is our first priority. In the last few years, we have taken in hundreds of cats and placed almost all of them in caring, responsible homes.
Kitty Corner is firmly committed to the idea that once a cat comes to us, it will never be homeless again. We have a life-long "cat back" guarantee. If an adoption doesn't work out at any time, for any reason, we ask that you to return the cat to us.
If you see a particular pet listed that you might like to meet, please call or e-mail and we'll tell you all about him or her.
If you are just looking to meet our cats available and see if one "clicks" with you, that's fine too!
Once you've completed the adoption application, either online or by phone, we'll invite you to meet our kitties. All of our adoptable cats are housed in the same location, so you will be able to meet everyone in one visit. We are located in Liverpool, NY.
Whether you have already found a cat or kitten you like in our adoptive listings, or if you just want to come and meet all our cats available for adoption, the first step is the application.
The first step to adopting is the adoption application. Our adoption application can be done over the phone 315-457-4420 or online at our website http://www.kittycorner.org under the "adopt" link; or here's a direct link http://www.kittycorner.org/pages/adoptapp.php
We request an adoption donation for our cats and kittens, which helps us to offset a little of our veterinary costs.
All cats, even the kittens, must be sterilized before going to new homes. We believe strongly in pediatric spay-neuter, a practice that can be used with kittens as young as eight weeks.
Kitty Corner of CNY rescues and adopts our cats to all of Onondaga County, New York State. We will also consider out of the area (including out of state) adoptions on a case-by-case basis.
