Mocha & Cappuccino's Info...
I am good with kids.
Mocha & Cappuccino are lovely young gals at the age of 1 year and 6 months young. Both girls were surrendered to a local shelter where they were transferred to us for much needed socialization and proper nutrition. Now after about 2 months these wonderful girls are ready to be placed into a forever home. More information about Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue
Rescue Group Info...
Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting out guinea pigs for over 10 years in the Western Pennsylvania area and beyond. Our rescue strives to provide cavies (fancy word for guinea pigs) with proper medical care, husbandry, and sanctuary when deemed necessary.
Donation information may be requested by contacting our rescue.
To meet our adoptable pets you need to first email or call our rescue to speak (or wheek) with a volunteer so we can discuss what guinea pigs best suit your personality, housing situation, etc. Occasionally we participate in local Petco adoption events and other local animal adoption events in our area.
We use and require all of our guinea pig adopters to use the C & C cage method as a home for their guinea pigs. Pet store cages are far too small for one guinea pig as a permanent home, and totally unacceptable for a pair or more. Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue is able to help potential adopters get 4' x 8' coroplast at wholesale prices; and comes in 13 different colors; and we will be happy to supply simple instructions on the cage's construction.
Adopters will not be permitted to adopt only 1 guinea pig. Guinea pigs are social creatures and can become depressed and overweight because of the loneliness. If adopters have guinea pigs already at home and want to add to their piggie family, we ask that they bring their pigs to our rescue to do a meet and greet.
Adoption donations are requested but not required. Adoption fees help supplement the cost of medical care, feeding, and bedding that the rescue otherwise provides all expenses for.
