Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Midge, she was at the Oklahoma City shelter, because she was part of an animal neglect and cruelty case. The owner was charged and convicted, so the only option was for the dog to be put to sleep or pulled for rescue. A volunteer with our rescue pulled her from the shelter, and we've gladly welcomed her as an honorary Chihuahua!
She was very underweight; her hip bones, ribs, and spine stuck out, and she still has a lot of hair loss, but that is getting better too.
Midge is a very sweet 8 year old (approximately). We believe she is a Border Collie mix.
She had to be treated for an ear infection, and because she was a High Positive for heartworms, she had to spend the last 3 months getting treated for that, but now she is healthy and happy, and ready to find a home that will love her, and keep her inside with them instead of outside in the heat and cold.
Midge's hair loss is attributed to malnutrition, and allergies. She tested negative for mange and thyroid problems. Her skin on her back, hips, and back of her legs shows long term sun damage; so she has been like this for a long time. 1 1/2 Temaril-P 2xday in combination with a good grain free food are keeping her allergies in check.
Midge is a smart, gentle, playful girl. She is enjoying getting good food, and having a comfy bed, and is getting along great with her foster brothers and sisters, 3 Chihuahuas, a Standard Poodle, and 2 cats. AND her foster mom has been working with her on sit and stay and other basic commands. She is very well behaved..........
Her adoption fee is $150.00
Please note: we Do require a securely fenced yard. And all other pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and current on vaccines unless there is a medical reason.
She is fostered by Shawna
