Barney's Story...
Barney just got back to the shelter for the second time. It seems like this little guy has no luck. The first adoptees had to return him, due the fact that their other dog kept attacking him, the second time.. he just didnt 'fit the family".

Barney is a really sweet boy, that learns pretty easy and fast. He will need some training, espc. with walking on the leash and he tends to bark. His "Recall" is awesome. He does get along with cats, with other dogs he can be a little food aggressiv, but thats something easy to work on.

Barney was adopted but came back because the new owners other dog kept attacking him.

Barney's Adoption Fee is $82, which includes: Microchip, Vaccines ( Distemper & Rabies), Heartwormtest and deworming.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Fort Riley Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever for sale in Fort Riley, or seeking a Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Fort Riley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Riley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Riley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Basset Hound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Riley paves the way for another one to be saved.
