Chocolate Mousse's Story...
Chocolate Mousse the Chocolate Lab is available for adoption!

Chocolate Mousse is the best dog ever! She is a 6 year old, Chocolate Lab, female, and is heartworm negative! She came in as a stray but with a little checking we found she had a microchip. We contacted the supposed to be owner and they said they had traded her to someone for a golf cart...no kidding!!! They didn't even have the name of the new owner to give to us. Mousse is super sweet and LOVES the water!!! She is like a kid who never wants to leave. She gets along well with other dog but is not too fond of cats. Mousse is overweight but now that she can walk to the water she will be shedding those extra pounds pretty quickly. She currently weighs 96 lbs. and should probably be right around 80 lbs. Mousse is crate trained and will let herself out of the doggie door to go potty. Mousse is already spayed. She is sooo fun! She loves to play fetch and splash around in her kiddie pool! She is currently being fostered in Annapolis, MD through Operation Paws for Homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chocolate Mousse, a Frederick Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
