Brandi's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and not good with dogs.

Brandi's Story...
Brandi is a 13-year-old female calico. She's spayed. She has had a senior blood panel and she's in good health for her age. She had her teeth cleaned a couple of weeks ago.

She has an old injury on her spine where two vertebrae are fused together, but it doesn't bother her. She came into the shelter in 2002 with a huge bite wound on her back, which probably caused the fused vertebrae. She was adopted in 2002 and then came back to the shelter in 2013 as a stray and no one came to claim her and they couldn't find the owners.

Brandi is very sweet and loves to cuddle. She's very vocal when she wants your attention for something.

She's getting used to the dog in her foster home but she's still sort of uncomfortable around him and prefers to stay in the other room so she'd probably prefer to be in a household without dogs. It is unknown whether she is good with other cats, but she'd probably be fine.

At the shelter she stopped eating because she was depressed and started losing weight. Now that she's in her foster home she's eating wet food twice a day and has a good appetite.

Brandi is a small girl - under 8lbs.

She likes to play with toys sometimes but is usually pretty mellow.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brandi, a Vista Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Vista, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
