My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Richmond VA

This super cutie was rescued from the Wake County Animal Shelter in Raleigh NC in May 2013. Her name was Sweetie Bunny while she was there. She had been at the shelter for well over a month and was on “the list”. She’s such a fun dog with a good disposition, we found room for her in our foster program. She’s on the small side, around 33-35 lbs with ears that do just about every position imaginable from fully erect to half pricked and even out to the side. They haven’t figured out what they want to do and will probably stay very expressive. She’s mostly white with some black patches. She has a small underbite that makes her look pouty sometimes.

Everything is super fun and life is just one big party with this little girl. She’s still young and so she has a lot of puppy energy to burn. She could use a jogging partner or someone who is willing to take obedience classes. She’s also a good candidate for flyball or agility. She will be taking some beginning flyball classes with her foster mom in January. She has some good basic skills, sit, down, come, kennel up, wait. She’s very food motivated and has excellent eye contact. She pulls a little on the leash. She’s also has nice tug drive and likes to play with rope toys.

She’s house broken, crate trained, is great in a car and is friendly to cats and other dogs. She’s submissive to other dogs. She’s super friendly and happy to meet everyone she possibly can and sometimes it’s hard to curb her enthusiasm. She is an absolute wiggle monster and the more you baby talk to her, the wigglier she becomes. She’s good with kids, but a bit on the bouncy side so toddlers that are wobbly on their feet are probably not the best choice, though she does respect a baby gate.

She has a very soft disposition and doesn’t need more than a verbal correction to be very sorry and have her feelings hurt. But it only takes a minute to forget her troubles and return to the life of the party. She’s sweet and snuggly. She loves to sleep in the bed but can and will sleep in her crate but not before giving you the sad eye.

She’s a really nice dog and should mature nicely into a well rounded adult dog. Superb temperament, no resource guarding from people or other dogs, no food guarding, takes treats nicely, give up her toys when asked. All around very friendly, very nice dog.

Please keep in mind that we are a foster based rescue only. There is no facility where these dogs can be visited prior to application approval as they are all in private homes. This is for both the safety of our foster homes and our dogs. Please take a minute to fill out the adoption application if you are interested in one of our dogs. We also do not place our pit bulls in homes with dogs of the same gender. We adopt as single dogs or to homes with dogs of the opposite gender only. We appreciate breed experience.
