BUTTONS's Story...
Hi! My name is sweet Buttons. I’m a Shih-tzu/Lhaso mix - a sweet male who weighs 15-16 lbs. I’m 3 years old. My birth date was Jan. 9, 2010. I’m white and black in color.

I came into PPR when my owner passed away and left 11 of us dogs to her niece who was a vet (thank goodness). There was no way anyone can add that many dogs to their household at once. So, the family started to look for homes. I came into PPR with two other Shih-Tzu siblings and they have found homes.

I am a very sweet and loving companion for the right home. The ideal home for me would be with an older woman who is single or married (however, she would need to be the primary caregiver to me). I love the ladies and not so much the guys. I love my foster mom and I will put my head on her lap while she crafts or watches TV – but, as soon as my foster dad walks in I lift my head up and will growl. I’m okay with my foster dad as long as my mom isn’t around. I do growl at men sometimes which can affect my possibilities of being adopted. I’m not really aggressive – I just love the ladies.

No children allowed. I must go to a couple or a woman. I do get along well with other dogs as there are many in my foster home. We don’t know about cats.

I’m neutered, up-to-date on shots, had fecal and heartworm checks which were negative and a dental (a few months ago.)

I will require drops in my one eye which has an ulcer. It can be purchased at a vet’s office or online. It seems like eye issues are common for breeds with large eyes like my breed - Shih-Tzu, Pekies, Lhasa’s, etc.

I love attention and would love to be the perfect companion to the right home. I’m as cute and sweet as can be. I’m a big teddy bear. I get excited and like to do a dance on my back legs. I’m the perfect cuddler and loving companion.

I am working on my house-training and will need to get used to your routine as well as you, mine. I’m sure you have lots of questions, so please don’t hold back… contact my foster home and they will try to answer them the best they can.

If you might be interested in giving me a 2nd chance at a forever home, please go to our website at www.puppypalsrescue.com and complete an application to be considered to adopt me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BUTTONS, a Beavercreek Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso for sale in Beavercreek, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Beavercreek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beavercreek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beavercreek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beavercreek paves the way for another one to be saved.
