Melvin's Story...

Melvin is a very handsome cat. He was originally a stray when he first came into my foster home, so he was initially shy. Now he is like a spark of energy whenever someone comes home. He will usually come running to you and follow you wherever you go. He is very affectionate, especially when he hears that can of food opening up, and will rub against your legs constantly. Melvin is litter trained, and has a very healthy appetite. He will usually lick his bowl clean after every meal.

Melvin is very agile and playful. He will entertain himself with whatever toys are in the room, and he completely adores laser pointers. When he gets bored with those, he will meow at you for attention and will play with you for as long as you like. In the evenings, after he has tired himself out, he will usually go to his favorite spot on the couch and take a nap. He likes to be petted gently, but any excitement may cause him to spring up and start playing with you again.

Melvin is in need of a fun adopter, one who has time to play with him constantly, as he is an attention seeker. He is currently being fostered in Burnaby right next to Metrotown, and is available for viewing during the day Tuesdays – Thursdays, and anytime during the week in the evenings. Suitable for a home with children older than 10 years. Can be adopted with a feline friend.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melvin, a Vancouver Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
