Leo's Story...
"I may be tiny, but I have a big heart! My name is LEO, and I'm a five-year-old Chihuahua who will melt your heart. My favorite spot in the world will be on your lap or in your arms. I just want to be loved! I get along nicely with other dogs, and I'd be a loving and loyal pet in a family with older, considerate children. I'm so very small that I would do well in an house or an apartment. The shelter staff is fairly certain that I've been house trained, but they're still watching me to be sure. Please come to the El Cajon Animal Shelter and visit me. You'll find a sweet little fellow waiting for a new forever home. I'm a little overwhelmed here at the shelter, but I feel better after somebody cuddles me. Just ask our helpful staff if we can get to know each other better out in the play yard. I think you'll fall in love with me once you hold me in your arms. Love, Leo" Kennel #11

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
