SOCKS's Story...
SOCKS THE PUPPY! SOCKS is a female, Black Lab / Boxer mix that currently weighs 15 pounds. This pup is only 12 weeks old. She is in foster care and doing well! Socks sleeps through the night and makes herself “oh so comfy” sleeping with the foster family’s daughter. Who couldn’t resist snuggling with this four legged cutie! Socks is a bit shy when meeting new people but is making great strides every day. SOCKS is very loveable and would make a great family dog. She is learning potty training and other manners every big dog should know. SOCKS is up to date on puppy vaccinations, she's heartworm negative, will be spayed before adoption and is microchipped. She is very young and like all young puppies, will need love, patience and DIRECTION (TRAINING). If you are interested in making this snuggle buddy a member of your family, contact the Humane Society of Oldham County's adoption coordinator at 502-795-7151 or email to: lisannehsoc@att.net. If you have questions regarding adoption fees or the adoption process or requirements, please see a copy of the adoption application at this link: www.humanesocietyoldhamcounty.com/adoption_application.pdf.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SOCKS, a LaGrange Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer puppy from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
