Here is what else the foster family had to say:
When he first came here I thought he wasn’t sure of the stairs but after a day I realized he just wasn’t sure if he was allowed up. Once he knew he could he has no problem coming up and down them. Same with any room he went in, he wouldn’t come in unless invited and sometimes was hesitant to go in. He is gentle with my senior dog and plays nonstop with my hyper dog until they finally tire each other out. He met my cat (after passing her numerous times without noticing) and wasn’t quite sure what to make of her. She stays out of the way as much as she can.
He doesn’t seem afraid of anything. I’ve had the vacuum and lawn mower going and he was fine with both. He loves treats and loves toys! He is very energetic and would love a home with someone that is active or another active dog. He has absolutely no resource guarding issues or food issues. He plays with my dog and shares toys no problem and lets them near him when he has food. He sleeps in his crate at night and when I’m at work and never makes a sound. When I come to let him out he stands wagging his tail and doesn’t bark or jump around, he’s so happy to see you. He hasn’t had an accident in the house or his crate, the longest he’s been left alone for is 8 hours. I think he would be ok left out of the crate but I crate my dogs. He’s a very quiet dog. He doesn’t bark when the neighbour's dogs are barking and has only barked when he needs out or someone is at the door and he just gives one bark.
I haven’t had him around children but I think he’d be fine. When I first brought him home he loved my senior pug, tail wagging they were so excited to see each other. Then he met my boxer… At first he was a little unsure but within ½ hour these dogs were running around and best of friends. My pug barks at them when they get too rowdy and he never chases her or pays any attention. We haven’t met any other dogs but I think he would be fine with any dog he meets.
He doesn’t go near the counters and when I have food he kind of looks but never comes over to get any. He’s never tried to steal food or sniff what I have. He seems to know his name and comes when called. I’m working on sit when he gets a treat but he doesn’t seem to know much of anything else. He could use work on his leash, he does like to pull. He loves being in the back garden and has never tried to escape, he doesn’t dig or anything. He doesn’t escape out the door but I also have my leg blocking the door from the dogs when I open it.
I think Yukon would be fine in an apartment as he is a quiet dog but he is energetic so he’d need to have someone take him out to burn his energy. He loves running around my back garden and can go for hours with my boxer. So he would definitely love a back garden and another dog to play with. He would do great at a dog park once he settles in his new home. He LOVES to play!! He will entertain himself with his toys or play tug with my dog. He always comes to say hi and get a cuddle. He loves fetch. He loves everyone he has met. He is just a really happy dog, I don’t think there is anything he doesn’t love.
