Cadence and her brother and sister share a sad, but familiar, story. Their first four months of life were likely spent outdoors where they fended for themselves after weaning. Rather than looking for safe placement for these unwanted puppies, their owners dumped them along side a rural highway, next to a bag of dog food, hoping they could fend for themselves or that someone else would save them. Although the city shelter was just up the road, they couldn't be bothered to at least take them there. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan came along, scooped them into the safety of her car and did take them to the shelter. And then we came along, bringing them to Almost Home to spare them from being put to sleep. These pups, all border collie mixes, are now five months old and ready for adoption! Our male weighs in at 35 pounds and will be the biggest of the bunch. His sisters are considerably smaller and will likely be no more than 50 pounds full grown. Despite their difficult start, these are sweet, submissive little dogs who will make wonderful companions. They are crate and house training now, are good with other dogs and don't mind kitties. Please consider making one (or two!) of these beautiful little souls your new family member. We don't want these babies growing up in a shelter and it is far past time for them to know the life of being a pampered pet with a loving guardian! All of our dogs are up-to-date with vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed/neutered, treated for parasites, microchipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
