ELI is a healthy and fit 5-year old male pit bull. He weighs 55 lbs, performs well on a leash, and graduated with honors from puppy class and beginner’s class at Top Dog Academy obedience school in Greenville, NC. He is accustomed to living in a household with multiple cats and children. Prior to coming to the Merit Pit Bull Foundation, he had limited exposure to other dogs with the exception of his sister, but he is getting to know his new doggy foster siblings and is doing well.
Eli is very friendly and affectionate and strives for approval from his loved ones. He will come up to get rubs and pats and end up sitting in a lap or laying on the person giving him love. He also loves to curl up under a blanket and enjoy the comfort of being close to someone.
Eli may be part-lovebug, but he also loves to play! He enjoys a good game of tag or tug-of-war, playing with sticks, and romping around outside. He would thrive in a tall fenced-in back yard. Eli thoroughly enjoys long walks with a chance to sniff and smell all the interesting things in the neighborhood and he likes to hike and take refreshing sips and little dips in creeks and rivers. He is also a great car rider!
To sum him up, all Eli wants is to make people happy and to be loved; he is very gentle, obedient, and calm. Eli has an older spirit and is pretty sensitive to discipline, so it is important that he be with someone who is very loving and will be gentle with him.
