Carmine is great with people and other dogs. I haven’t seen him with children but I can’t imagine there would be an issue. Carmine loves to race around the back garden with my min pin and yellow lab. They play and wrestle until they all need to take a break. I live in a busy house with people coming and going and everyone comments on how wonderful he is. Since being with us he met has over 20 adults without an issue. Carmine is a dog that is glad to have a place to hang his leash; he is very cuddly and affectionate with us. He almost looks like he is smiling. We have a cat and Carmine doesn’t bother with her. The cat isn’t a huge fan of dogs and he respects her and gives her space. Carmine is still a pup at approximately 8 mos old and currently weighs just under 20 lbs.
Here is what else the foster family had to say:
As Carmine is still a puppy you isn't completely house trained but he is well on his way. He didn't like the crate but we are getting him used to it. He did get out of his crate one day and didn't do anything wrong in the house at all. He doesn't appear to have any fears and he gets along really well with any dogs or people he meets on our walks.
Carmine LOVES people. He gets excited to see you or to get up in the morning. He isn’t a high energy dog by any means, I have taken him for walks every other day and play in the back garden with him and that seems to be the exercise that suits him. He is very quiet in the home and only barks to alert you when someone comes to the door.
We are working on Carmine's basic commands and he is coming along nicely. He isn’t tall enough to counter surf. He takes treats from your hand very politely. He eats his food slowly. He hasn’t chewed anything; he does however love his Kong. He seems to rely on my other dogs to ask to go out and hasn’t quite learned to tell us himself. We have a puppy so we are constantly taking him out so I think he just needs to figure out how to ask. He doesn’t pull on a leash but needs a harness not a collar to walk. He doesn’t leave your side. He hasn’t tried to bolt out of our house at all.
Carmine would be good with any family. We will have a terrible time saying good bye to him because he is such a sweet loveable little boy. Carmine needs some more training but he is still a young boy so he will be quick to learn. I haven’t seen Carmine with children so I can’t comment on a house with children but if you are looking for a best friend, this is your man! Carmine is looking for a loving home where he is surrounded by people that love him and he has a ton of love to give. Carmine loves playing with my Miniature Pinscher and Lab. The min pin is more his size and they race laps around the back garden until they are out of breath. Carmine is happy while we are out walking and happy to be cuddled on the couch with you watching TV, he is just one happy little boy.
