Huey's Story...
Huey is such a fun, loving, 13 week old kitten who is enjoying his foster home with his sister Daisy and the family’s cats and large-dog. Huey fulfills his role as the brother as he loves to play, but he also greatly enjoys snuggling with his sister, the foster family’s dog, and his foster parents. Ever morning his foster parents wake up with Huey and Daisy sleeping close in their bed and often receiving licks and nuzzles as they awaken. They love guests coming to the house and usually greet them at the door with a few meows. Although both kittens are really adventurous, they also have a really relaxed manner as they are great in the car and are great with young children.
Huey uses his litter box like a good boy, is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped and neutered. His adoption fee of $125 benefits the rescued dogs and cats of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. To meet and adopt Huey and/or his sister please contact Melissa at 312-622-1512 or email her at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huey, a Chicago American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
