Charlie's Story...
Charlie is a sweet one year-old blonde chihuahua mix who was found as a stray in Orange County and taken to a high kill shelter. Weighing in at six pounds, he walks pretty well on leash and loves to be held. In addition, Charlie gets along fine with other dogs and is already housetrained too!

Charlie is looking for a best friend, a sidekick. He would love to go with you everywhere and snuggle up with you in bed at night.

Charlie has been examined by our vet, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. We've also had his teeth cleaned and dental work taken care of.

Charlie's adoption donation is $200.

His adoption includes:

- Transportation from kill shelter
- Initial health examination by our veterinarian
- Spay/Neuter
- Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations
- Dewormer
- Teeth cleaning & dental work
- Microchip
- Copy of vet records
- Bathed and groomed
- Collar

We strive to provide all the care the dog will need before sending them off to a new family and have open communication with our adopters about what care the dog may need in the future.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Santa Barbara Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
