My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scarlett came to New Moon Rabbit Rescue on 24 March 2013. She is one of many stray bunnies that were living in a rural community in North Grenville. Her situation involves many stray (partially to fully feral) rabbits that have been allowed to breed and run free off of an individual’s property. Most of these rabbits are simply disappearing after a few weeks or months of being first seen or are being hit on roads and this is no life for these beautiful sweethearts. With the help of a few of the families in this rural community we are catching and taking in any of these bunnies that can be saved.

Scarlett is one of the lucky ones…

When Scarlett first arrived she was terrified of humans and extremely pregnant. Only days after arriving Scarlett gave birth to 11 babies. No matter how frighten she was of her foster family, she never feared for the safety of her babies. Over the weeks an month her foster family worked with her, gaining her trust, teaching her the humans were not something to fear. Scarlett has come such along way in that time and we are happy to say that she is now looking for her dream home to continue her fairytale life that only month ago, she didn’t know existed. Scarlett is doing so well that she has now moved to another foster home so that new bunnies, just as fearful as she was, can get the help they need too.

Scarlett is a sweet girl and is loved by all that have had a chance to know her. Her personality blossoms a little more everyday. She is very curious and would like the opportunity to investigate everything at her own pace. She can still be a bit shy and nervous but she is still learning that there are many people out there that are gentle and kind to bunnies (not just her foster families). Scarlett has only just been spayed (6 June 2013) so she is still trying to learn and perfect her litter training at this time.
