Babe is a sweet lady who has had a rocky road. When she came into our program, she was taking Temaril-P (a steroid based medication) for her itching and hair loss. The foster family took her off the meds and in a few weeks she started losing her hair again. Being concerned, LOA took Babe to the vet and had a blood panel ran and she came out in good health. What the vet suggested was to wean her off the meds again and then bring her back to have her thyroid tested. We did that and took her back and that test was negative too (Thyroid working fine). Babe has now been off the meds for a couple of months and her fur is growing back and she is looking wonderful. LOA will give you copies of the tests so you can see all results!
Babe is a very nice girl who walks great on a leash and does not jump on you. She would love to be with a family that will make her one of their own.
As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a 'special' area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
