This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma City area.

My name is Kia. I was born in November of 2012. I am only four pounds right now, but still have a little growing to do. I like to cuddle and play chase with my foster dog, sister Kate.
I am very friendly and like to meet new people. I like to ride in the car, but I need a bed or kennel to sit in. I am so small that I need something to lean against when you turn or I will roll off the seat!
I come when called and sit for treats. I am trying to be perfectly house trained, but I still make mistakes. On the up side the accidents are very tiny and easy to clean up.
I am quiet for a Chihuahua and only bark when I play. I have blonde fur and shed very little, but I do need my nails trimmed every two weeks and a bath with conditioner once a month. That should be all the grooming I need to keep my skin and coat healthy.
I do not like walking with a leash and collar, but I am working on that. I don't mind being carried where I need to go if we are away from home. I love to cuddle and really like to be in your lap or laying next to you. I do not like being alone so another dog friend in the house would be wonderful.
Because of my small size I get cold and hot very fast. I like to sleep under the blankets on my foster mom's bed at night to stay warm. When I play outside I play in short bursts to keep from getting too hot. I also cannot tolerate rough play or petting. I need a household where all the family members are old enough to be gentle and careful with me.
