I personally fell in love with this dog the moment I met him. He stood out in the crowd not because of anything he was doing but rather because of what he was not doing. He was calm, relaxed and taking everything in his stride. I wasn't sure how he would do around my small dogs but found that he was wonderful. He is very respectful of everyone's personal space whether that be human or another animal.
Floyd has a gorgeous, healthy coat and his tongue is speckled with blue making him look as though he had just chewed up a pen. He has great house manners and fit easily into my small space without any problem. Of course he would love to have a backyard to run around and play in. I think he would make a wonderful therapy dog as he is so gentle.
Floyd does like to play and would love a family with children that would enjoy playing with him. He would be fine as an only pet getting all the attention for himself but would also be fine with another dog or cats in the home. He knows some basic commands such as sit, shake a paw and down but will be a great candidate for training as he is very eager to please and learns quickly. His foster family is working on his leash training which is coming along nicely.
I can't say enough about this dog as he has so much potential to be a great family companion. As I mentioned above, this boy is beautiful inside and out. Perhaps he is an old soul?
Here is what else his foster family had to say:
Floyd is a sweet boy. He is playful and loving and is always looking for affection and just wants to please you. He is young and so he gets excited when its time to eat or when you get home or even meet new doggie friends. We just settle him down and get him to sit and show him love!
He would do great with someone that is looking for a best friend or family member because of his tentativeness and loyalty he has already shown us. He would love fenced yard to run and play in and a good walk each day. He will definitely become a neighbourhood favourite.
He loves to cuddle up to you on the couch and just chill out at the end of the day!
If we were not going on two weeks vacation soon, we would definitely consider keeping him!
