Sammy's Story...
Sammy is an 8 year-old red tabby Domestic Shorthair. He was adopted several years ago by an elderly couple who recently moved into assisted living. He is FIV/FELV negative.

Sammy watches everything, giving him an attentive, curious demeanor. He is a big boy, filled with pure love and affection. He doesn’t scratch to sharpen his own nails, so he’ll need the ends of his nails clipped periodically – an easy task, since he’s so easy-going.

Sammy enjoys spending time with people. He reaches out for rubs and petting from anyone he meets and responds to talking with soft, casual meow. Sammy gets along well with other cats but doesn’t have experience with dogs. He is a great companion who will make his new family very happy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Gilbert Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
