Pink's Story...
NOTE: Pink is in a foster home NOT AT THE SHELTER. Therefore a confirmed, advance appointment will be necessary to meet her. Do not go to the Shelter and expect her to be there – she won’t. Pink is a female dog that we believe to be around 1 to 2 years of age. She acts very puppy-ish. She is taller than a Westie Terrier, but smaller than a Wheaten Terrier. She may also have some Schnauzer or Cairn Terrier breed in her mix. As you can tell by now, we aren’t exactly sure what breed mix is in Pink. We do know she needed a serious grooming when she was first found stray just northeast of Austin (see photo). Pink has got a fantastic personality. She loves everyone and also really enjoys other small dogs that are similar in size to her. She’s around 30 pounds right now. She is going to be spayed during the week of June 10, and she is current with all vaccinations. In her foster home, Pink is being crate-trained and is doing quite well. A fenced yard would be preferred for her, as she runs like a rabbit, however she does come when called. Her adoption fee is $95. If you’re interested, please send us an e-mail and we can forward to you our adoption application form in Microsoft Word format.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pink, a Austin Wheaten Terrier/Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier/Cairn Terrier for sale in Austin, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier/Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier/Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier/Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
