Corky's Story...
This 9 month old corgi mix neutered male needs a foster home or adoptive home ASAP. Here is his rescuer's narrative. We are assisting as his rescuer bailed him out as he was on his way to being euthanized at the Apple Valley Shelter.
Hi,I am a volunteer with dog rescue, doing some pulling from shelters when asked, vet runs, transports, ect. Last week I was asked to pull this littleCorgi guy right before euthanasia at Apple Valley Animal Shelter. I have the rescue who pulled him blessing to network him for a good home so he doesn't have to go into boarding or be shipped out of state. They got caught off guard when no one stepped forward and the rescue coordinator asked us to please save him. She had to call back to stop all euthansias so we could bring out little Corky. It was quite emotional.
I will deliver him just about anywhere in California to an approved adopter. Corky's story is he was found as stray as a puppy and brought to shelter where he was adopted at about 6 months old. After about 2 weeks the new adopter dumped him back off at the shelter the owners Chihuahua who was kinda grouchy and did not like to play. The shelter put he was dominate with other dogs, which is just not true, but they were going off what the owner said. he is great around dogs and especially loves big dogs:) Corky is all about playing and running and hanging out.
He is around 9 months old and healthy. I am trying to network him. I do not want to put him in boarding now that he has been at my house because he has been betrayed twice, and been at the shelter twice, already in his very young life and I am afraid it will break his heart. I may have to if I cant find him a home soon because I am over my legal limit of dogs. He is sponsored by me for now. Fully vetted, neutered and healthy. 22 pound boy and just about the perfect little mix of cuddly love bug and goofball.
He learns very quickly. Housebroken with 2 corrections. I was hoping that you may know of someone who is looking for a nice little corgi boy. These are the things I have learned about him since last Friday. He loves other dogs, I have 4 and he plays with all of them. He shares his food and the toys well. He sits, comes and stays. He has gone with me on 2 dog transports for other rescues and is a great co pilot. I would keep him in a heartbeat if I did not have 2 seniors and 2 other rescues already in my house. He is such a love and does not deserve to be put back in a kennel situation. He is such a happy boy... I know there is someone out there for him to love and that need him in their life's...Hes a heart breaker, this one...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Corky, a Lomita Welsh Corgi puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Welsh Corgi for sale in Lomita, or seeking a Welsh Corgi puppy from a breeder in Lomita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lomita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lomita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Welsh Corgi breeders who help with Welsh Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lomita paves the way for another one to be saved.
