Pepper's Story...
Pepper is a 7 month old un-neutered male Blue Heeler/ Lab blend who owner could no longer care for him. It was reported by his owner that he gets along with other dogs and cats. He has lived in a family with children 3 years and up; another dog and 2 cats. He appears to be house trained, knows the commands sit and lay and will speak. Pepper loves to play fetch and to play in the water. Pepper is a fun loving, very energetic boy who loves to play with children, but he isn't real fond of going for rides.

If you want to apply for Pepper click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Meridian Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
