Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET GRETCHEN. SPECIAL NEEDS. This sweet puppy beautiful blk/tan longhaired female pup was caught in a garage door when 3 mos old. She is 3 mos after injury, so about 6-7 months old now. Her humans love her but feel forced to surrender her since they are retired, on fixed income, and her home has stairs which makes her care very difficult. Gretchen is a lovely, loving girl, and mostly housebroken.... she can hold urine for 4 hours and can let you know when she needs to go out. She needs a J-Cart to assist her healing and help her keep up with other dogs.
UPDATE: It now appears that Gretchen will not walk again, so she will need a special home. Please call and talk with Jenell 503 313 3220 if you think you have the capacity to spend the time and love necessary to care for this little angel. Adoption fee $295.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fees over the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training. Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
