Red's Story...
Dear New Family,
I am fine fella named Red. Handsome on the outside, that’s easy to see! But let me tell you a little bit about the real me…..I was found running the streets, picked up and taken to the local shelter. Whew, safe and sound…soon my family will be coming for me…I thought to myself. But they didn’t show, decided not to come at all. Their loss, not mine….see I know I will find a wonderful new family who will be loving and caring and willing to make a true commitment. You know, a family deserving of a gentle companion like myself. I am sweet to all that I meet so long as they know how to treat me with a sensitive touch, great with other dogs and cats too.. always eager to trust, hoping that soon I will feel safe again. So I was hoping that maybe you could come down to Family Dogs and ask to meet me….Hope to see you soon.
Sincerely, Red.
2 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; microchip, neuter, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Portland Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
