Facts about Reyna

  • Breed: Border Collie/Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
This special girl was rescued out of a greenbelt ditch with her sisters. Semi-feral and scared to death, they were eventually caught and brought to us. All pups would not let us touch them for the first few weeks, then progress began. Not 100% trusting of humans that they don't know a special home is needed; quiet, no kids, not alot of visitors or sudden changes. Reyna needs to trust her person and not be expected to be perfect. New things, new noises and new people make her a bit uneasy but once she relaxes she is a different dog; she gives great hugs and kisses and is so goofy. She walks well on a leash, loves other dogs, loves toys and blankets, and would love to be in a home to keep her safe. If you have the patience and love Reyna needs give us a call for more details.

About Heart of Texas SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Our History:
Our shelter was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth. In November 2001 adoptions were done out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002. We are now located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements threw the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more of the community. We provide a temporary shelter, rehabilitation and care to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention.

Our Adoption Process...
