My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Henley is a mixed breed, but his looks and demeanor are pure golden. He is a very sweet and handsome boy with a typical golden smile. He is very energetic and playful and has become fast friends with our female, Sunny, who is about the same age. They love to play rough – chasing each other around the yard, playing tug-o-war with their toys, and wrestling. On the other hand, Henley has been very respectful of our older female, Polly, who let him know from the very beginning who's in charge around here. I believe he would do fine in a home with other dogs. He would do well as an only dog, too, as long as he gets the attention and love he craves.

We haven't had an opportunity to see how Henley does with children, although I think he'd be fine with older children who weigh more than he does (he weighs 51 pounds) and who would play with him. He may be a little too exuberant with smaller children because, while I don't believe he would hurt them intentionally he might knock them down or play too rough.

Henley has no obvious health issues – in fact he seems to be the picture of good health. He has a hearty appetite and sleeps an appropriate amount of time. He is playful and active during the day. He is housebroken. He is alert and attentive and should respond well to training.

Henley is crate trained. He goes to his crate on command and seems happy and comfortable there. He can be left in his crate for hours at a time without whining or crying. He frequently goes into his crate on his own to rest or nap.
