I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Marshall learns quickly and is very caring, and sweet. Always friendly with people, and happy to meet everyone. He is a young adult dog and still loves to play but as long as he gets his exercise during the day, he is a gentle cuddle buddy at night. He is approximately 2 - 3 years old and weighs approximately 80 lbs. He is a handsome boy with a lovely coat.
Here is what else his foster family had to say:
Marshall has been perfectly fine with everyone, no signs of aggression with anything such as food, toys, treats, or playing. He appears to have an aversion to very loud noises such as trains, thunder, etc. He does know his basic commands such as sit, come, down and stay. He walks quite well on leash but still needs some reminders and might pull if he sees a cat. He is great with any other dogs he meets but we think he would be best in a home with no cats. He seems to think that cats are living toys for him to play with and the cats don't agree.
He is a quiet dog in the home but is still learning some house manners. As long as he gets enough exercise during the day then he settles easily in the home. He is crated at night and when we are not in the home and this should continue until he can be fully trusted to be on his own. He settles easily in his crate and sleeps through the night with no issues.
Marshall is a very affectionate dog and he loves cuddles and being pet. He is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly and wants to be friends with everyone. He is just getting over his ordeal from the shelter and as he gains confidence in his new life I feel the shyness will fade away. He would do well with another friendly dog in the home but is fine on his own. He can amuse himself with his toys which he really enjoys but needs tough toys as he can make trash of any stuffies lying around. He does like sitting on the couch and getting on the bed so if this behaviour is not wanted, he would need to be taught to stay off the furniture.
Marshall accepts whatever is going on and has never attempted to try and escape the yard or leave our side. I am sure in time he would be able to walk off leash with no issues. He can be a bit goofy at times but that just adds to his charm. Overall he is just a big teddy bear of a dog that loves affection and really wants to be a part of the pack.
I think the best environment for Marshall is a family who has a fully fenced in backyard. He needs to play. He needs someone that will be patient, and caring, and loving and willing to work with him. Over time of consistency he will be fine, he just needs to get used to someone's routine. He's a very caring and affectionate dog that has a lot to give. Marshall can be stubborn at times, and may need a extra reminder to listen but he's funny, and sweet, and loving to all.
