My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maxx is an absolutely wonderful little boy who is only a year old and between 12-15 lbs. He is a perfect pup and an ideal companion!—good with kids, other dogs, big and small, and all adults. He is incredibly loving and among his favorite activities are lap sitting and belly rubs. Besides being a cuddle-bug, Maxx is obedient and housetrained and loves to play with one of the big dogs in his foster home. There is a true sweetness to this boy and he is highly intelligent and sensitive—but has no bad habits! This charming little boy will bring joy and love to any household. He has soft silky black and tan fur and those “batwing” Papillion-type ears. He loves to walk and explore and has a jaunty and happy gait. Maxx is being fostered in the NYC area for Sylvia’s Animal Sanctuary in Owingsville, Kentucky.



When Maxx was a puppy, the toes in one paw were broken and they were never repaired. As a result, one of his front paws turns slightly to the side, but this in no way impedes his movement or walking. Maxx was recently xrayed and the vet’s conclusion is that nothing could be done and that there would be no bad effects from this old injury . Watching Maxx run, play and walk, the slight deformity is barely noticeable.



The adoption process includes an completed application, phone interview and home visit. An adoption fee applies.
