My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Terry is a sweet fellow. He was a matted filthy mess when he was pulled from the county shelter. He was taken there by someone who claimed he was a stray- but the shelter felt he may have belonged to the person's mother- he claimed his mother had just put the harness on him the night before when found, but it was so tight, they had to cut it off and skin showed signs of it being on him longer than overnight. Our groomer had to shave him down. We feel he may have been used as a stud at a puppy mill or back yard breeder. Terry panics when you first pick him up indicating he may have been dropped- or worse thrown down. He is also cautious about his head being petted. Another sign of abuse but he has never shown aggressive behavior.

Terry is crate trained- and as long as you get him out often- doesn't make mistakes in the house. He tested negative for heartworms, is now neutered, up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped and now neutered.
He gets along well with other dogs. Walks well on leash and rides well in car. He is 11 lbs of cuteness and 3.5 years old. Could you be the special home he needs and deserves to help him learn to fully trust again? We feel a quiet home without children would be best. Perhaps a nice fenced yard for him to wander around exploring. Please email vivgraves@hotmail.com for adoption application and more information. Adoption fee of $250 to approved inside home only.
