My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aug 30/13 (the breeds are just a guess based on her looks and behaviour)
We now know what Hope needs. :)
We have take hope to a Orthopedic specialist and he has told us the following. Her pelvis and left hip have healed. While they aren’t perfect they are in good positions. But her right hip must be replaced. We have an estimate on this and will be preforming the surgery as soon as we can get her adopted and in a home that can commit to taking care of her. Because of health issues we have had to move Hope to another foster home but she is settling in wonderfully. Hope is reactive on leash but only because she wants to get to that other dog and meet them. She has met many dogs and is good with them all. She bonds deeply with dogs and people and needs a home where she can learn that she will not be left behind again. Hope does show a little anxiety but again nothing over the top. She is still only about a 11 months old and has been thru so much change. This miracle girl deserves another chance at a home that will stand by her forever.
West Coast Rottweiler Rescue is working really hard to raise the money needed to care for this sweetheart. We are hoping to do the surgery within 2 months.

What a sweetie Hope is. She is friendly and loves children. She is great with other dogs (but a little excited at times). But she should not live with cats. Hope is crate trained, is very clean in the house and despite her injuries is quite mobile. We would love for Hope to find a place here in the lower mainland so we can make sure she continues with her physical therapy. If your interested in either adopting or fostering Hope please let us know at wcrr.info@gmail.com

Another miracle dog for West Coast Rottweiler Rescue. Hope had been hit by a car in her home town in the Cariboo and her owners were not able to afford the care. Hope was signed over to the local spca and while they kept her in foster care for a while, they contacted us in hopes that we could help her. It was originally thought that she only needed hip surgery on one side. But further x-rays showed that both her hips were damaged and her pelvis was not strong enough to hold them.
At this time we simply do not know if we can fix Hope. Her injuries might just be too bad. But here is what we do know.
Hope is a happy playful pup that is not in any pain. She gently plays with her foster brother and loves people. Hope is only about 8 months old. She is your typical puppy that is into everything and can be destructive if not supervised. We are looking for either a foster home or a forever home for her. She will need someone that is home more often than not, is able to take her for leashed walks, watch her weight and take her for vet appointments when necessary. Until we know exactly what is going on with Hope we will keep her in our care. If you were ever wondering about fostering a dog now is the perfect time. Please contact us at wcrr.info@gmail.com for an application. Hope needs a placement in the lower mainland so we can monitor her care.
