My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wembly Is Happy Go Lucky In Spite Of It All

Wembly is a charming young boxer who was surrendered to a high-kill shelter. His time was up and if we did not take him he would have been killed. Wembly is only 2 years old and weighs 63 pounds. He is also deaf. He was described by the kennel staff as friendly and goofy. He is not in very good physical condition and has obviously been neglected. Luckily he is heartworm negative.

Sadly we have no foster homes for Wembly and several other dogs we have saved from being killed. Wembly is currently in a boarding kennel and is in desperate need of a foster or permanent home.

Despite his background, Wembly is still a sweet and loving dog and tries his best to trust people. He was a bit apprehensive with all his new surroundings but is adjusting rather well. When he feels secure he is loving and very affectionate. Every day he gets a little better.

Early on, we realized that Wembly was abused. He will cower (actually flatten himself to the ground) when you approach him as if he was going to be hit. He is leery to have eye contact with you while he tries to be submissive so people won’t hurt him.

He has obviously been kept outside most of his life and has likely never lived inside a home. He clearly was treated harshly quite possibly because he was misunderstood because he could not hear. Wembly has typical young boxer energy and, since he is deaf, he needs a home with a fenced yard.

Wembly is very needy right now and will require a situation where he can be with people most of the day. It would be best for him to be the only animal in the home and in a home without children.

We are doing everything we can to buy these dogs some time and we are desperate for your help. If you have ever considered fostering a dog now is the time to give it a try. The lives of these dogs depend on you…We cannot save them without your assistance.

PLEASE HELP, yes we are begging….These dogs need you to live.
