My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Arizona, a beautiful red head with one of the sweetest and fun personalities. This was not the case a few months ago. When he was rescued he was terrified of people, movement, sounds, well actually he was scared of life itself. Huddled in the back of his kennel, staff and volunteers would spend their lunch/free time just sitting in his kennel quietly letting him get use to human smells and people. His first few walks were ones with him darting from one end of the leash and back again, pancaking to the ground with the slightest fast movement or sound. It took several weeks for this little man to start to trust people enough to come out of his kennel on his own and enjoy walks and the world around him. With the patience and love of the wonderful Rescue volunteers and staff at his boarding facility Arizona has blossomed into a beautiful loving fun boy that is a breath of fresh air to be around. He is starting to enjoy his walks and learning what fun it can be to sniff around and investigate his surroundings. He finds comfort in other dogs so his perfect home would be one with another canine or two to help him continue to gain confidence. He still is not sure of toys and will take a family with patience and time to allow him to grow at his own speed. But let him out in a backyard with another canine friend and watch him come alive to the surprise of the Rescue volunteers that had him out recently on the weekend with another rescue dog. Once off his leash and given the time to check out his surroundings the game of chase was on and he had a blast. He is best friends now with the volunteers that have spent time with him and he looks forward to their walks and outings. He loves to snuggle and will settle down in you lap as you relax to read or watch TV. What a difference from the scared little boy that Rescue took a chance on a few months back. Arizona is now ready to move onto the next chapter of his life and start fresh with a new family. One that is patient and happy to take the time to help him learn that it isnt a bad world and that people can be good and loving. You life is going to be so enriched with the gorgeous red head in it. If you are ready to take a chance on Arizona he is ready to take a chance on you. Check him out today - www.azrescue.org.

Arizona weighed 14.1 pounds when we saved him from the kill list.
