Ruff Ruff! My name is Stormy
|Breed:||Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever Mix||Color:||Merle||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)||Sex:||Female||ID#:||Richmond, VA|
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Stormy is a beautiful compact Catahoula who came into a high kill shelter in Louisiana as a stray. Seniors aren’t easily adopted at this busy public pound and Stormy found herself on the list to be euthanized after her mandatory 7 day stray hold. Thanks to the PAWS of NE LA “Pops Fund” that helps older dogs at this shelter, Stormy was instead rescued and is loving life in foster care! Stormy is approximately 8 years old and 40#. She has beautiful blue merle coloring and the biggest brown eyes you have ever gazed in to! Stormy is pretty much perfect…she is housetrained, crated trained (but trustworthy uncrated), good on leash, and loves kids and other dogs. Her foster mom reports that, “Stormy loves every body she meets and is going to make some lucky adopter very happy.” She is a low key girl who is looking for a“retirement” home to spoil her rotten…she deserves it! Stormy is spayed, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. She did test positive for heartworm but is currently going through treatment and she will be heartworm free in early August…we would love to have her a home lined up to go to by then! Don’t miss out on this amazing dog because of her age!! “Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog” – Sydney Jeanne Seward.

Rescue Group Info...
Bonnie Blue's main goal is to save unwanted and "left behind" dogs from kill shelters and place them into loving, forever homes. "Owner surrenders" are also accepted at Bonnie Blue, where we will rehabilitate and rehome many different breeds. Once a dog comes into our rescue, he or she will stay with us until we can find the perfect family. We screen our adopters thoroughly to ensure they have only the best intentions in adopting a new member to their family.
Bonnie Blue also networks with other rescues and shelters to help save even more animals from a cruel fate.
Our adoption fee is $300 unless otherwise noted. $75 of this adoption fee will be refunded if proof of enrollment in obedience class is shown to the rescue within 30 days of adoption. We HIGHLY encourage our adopters to go ahead and sign their new pups up for obedience classes.
Our adoption process begins with a returned adoption application. Once turned back in, it generally takes 48-72 hours for us to thoroughly check the applications. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a home visit and (if a local adoption) will try to arrange it so that we can bring the pup that you are interested in adopting with us. Provided the home visit goes well, you are considered for adoption.
Please note that our adoptions are not "first come, first served". We are diligent about making sure that we find the right family for each of our foster pups. Just because you are approved to adopt does not mean that the pup that you initially applied to adopt is the best fit for your family. We will work with you to make sure that you find the perfect forever pet.
