Max's Story...
Max is a giant ball of gray fur right now. With a proper Schnauzer haircut, he will be a "new dog" in appearance. Max was given up by his former owner because this former owner died. He was described as house broken and good with kids by the next of kin who brought him to the shelter.

Max has met the other dogs at my home and also a cat. So far, Max has examined each of them with his nose, and then moved on to something more interesting to him. He knows how to use the doggie door to let himself out when necessary and has not barked yet.

Max will be a good dog for someone who wants a low-key big furry dog. He is not at the shelter, but has moved to a rescue/foster home in Atlanta. For more information on how to adopt Max, please call Judy at 770 351 7377.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Calhoun Giant Schnauzer/Poodle (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Giant Schnauzer/Poodle (Standard) for sale in Calhoun, or seeking a Giant Schnauzer/Poodle (Standard) dog from a breeder in Calhoun.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calhoun already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calhoun breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Giant Schnauzer/Poodle (Standard) breeders who help with Giant Schnauzer/Poodle (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calhoun paves the way for another one to be saved.
