My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paddy, the Australian Shepherd mix female came to Critter Cavalry Rescue on April 26th of 2013 and immediately we had to take drastic measures to get her over a new pneumonia cold that kept her ill for two weeks. She was so weak and scared that her foster mom Kim had to carry her up and down the stairs to go outside for business. This girl has made such a remarkable turn around and is now happy and healthy and thriving. She needs her own forever home with another dog to call her friend for life. This one year old, 35 pound girl named Paddy is an Australian Shepherd mix who has a very pretty, solid light-reddish coat and a bushy, bottle brush tail, that is typical for an Australian Shepherd dog. Paddy loves to be around other dogs. Her foster mom has 3 dogs and she is very playful with them and loves to run. Before coming to us we don't think she ever had a proper dog toy as she would at first only grab and drag throw rugs or a shoe if she could get one! She now has her own Nylabone, which she chews on with great abandon and delight. She likes to chase and fetch but we are working on her returning skills. She listens and behaves very well. She does not mind the multiple cats at her foster home but she has chased them when they have run from her. Now tell me…what dog wouldn’t? No harm intended but great fun was had in the chase. This is typical dog behavior, and she will stop when you tell her" No". She sleeps inside at night with other dogs. She is house trained, and has not had an accident in her whole time at the foster home which is amazing. She is hesitant to approach if you have something in your hands, but she is getting better at this. We are getting the commands down pat right now like "Sit" and "Shake". This is a very precious soul that loves to be petted and she likes to be near you. If you consider yourself or your family as a patient, kind, stable environment then you will be the right fit for Paddy and she for you. She has come a long way in the short time she has been with her foster mom Kim and CCR. This is a special and most beautiful girl. Won’t you find a place in your heart and home to give her a life that she so richly deserves? ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
