My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Theo's adoption fee is $350.

My name is Theo and I am a 4 year old male neutered Shih Tzu weighing just under 10 pounds. I had a very rough start in life, but now that I am safe with Tiny Paws I am up to date on my vaccines and micro chipped and every day I am learning how wonderful it is to be loved and cared for. Just soaking it up like a sponge Mom says.

I didn’t have a lot of human contact before, so I am nervous initially around people, although with a kind soft voice and a gentle touch I will settle right down and be happy to sit on your lap or snuggle up beside you. My foster mom says I am overcoming my fears and doing really well with learning to potty outside like my foster brother and sister. Going for nice long walks is one of my favourite things and I’m allowed to sleep on the big bed at night. I spent way too long in a crate and don’t like it at all.....except if we’re going for a long drive in the car, then it’s OK . We have toys and chewy bones at my foster house and I am learning about play. I had a vet check up this week and was really good, letting her do whatever she wanted and didn’t make any fuss …..my grooming didn’t go as well, but we got through it!

Although I am 4, it’s like I’m really just starting my life now. My forever family will need to see me as a puppy and remember this training is brand new for me. To be my very best, my family will need to be committed to continuing my training. I respond to praise (Good boy!). I would be best in a home without children. I get along with other dogs, but it might be best if I am your one and only since we have lots of work to do together. Also it would be really nice if someone was home during the day because crating me would just make me anxious. If you’re walking folks, who speak gently and are very patient with experience in puppy training, then I am the dog you’ve been looking for. Please send an application in to Tiny Paws and we’ll get this party started, OK?
