Jasper's Story...
Jasper is a male Aussie-Corgi mix who is 19 months old. He is a bit overweight at 18" tall and 37 pounds but he has been getting plenty of exercise so he is becoming quite fit. He is a a very sweet boy and has a lot of love to give. He is nervous in new situations but warms up once he gets to know you. He loves to play with other dogs and is fine with cats. He was fine with the kids he met while in foster care (ages 5 and 6). Jasper is very food motivated and because he is part Corgi will always be a bit chubby if you don't keep him on a diet. He loves to hang out in the yard and at the house with you, loves to go for walks and rides in the car and would love to be a permanent member of someone's family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jasper, a Elk River Australian Shepherd/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Corgi for sale in Elk River, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Corgi dog from a breeder in Elk River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elk River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elk River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Corgi breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elk River paves the way for another one to be saved.
