Hyacinth's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Hyacinth's Story...
The first step in our adoption process is an application, which you can submit online at It does not obligate you in any way, but we do not arrange meetings or make telephone contact until we have one. Hyacinth is a six year old purebred Maltese girl (D.O.B. July 23, 2007). She weighs 8-1/2 pounds and is a very well-mannered, social little girl. Hyacinth has been spayed, brought up to date on her immunizations, tested negative for heartworms and started on preventative. She also had her teeth cleaned. She will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10 or with a dog weighing more than 20 pounds. Hyacinth’s adoption donation is $150, and she is being fostered in Birmingham, Alabama. We do approve out of state adoptions, but you must be willing to drive to the foster home to “fetch” your new family member. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hyacinth, a Mooy Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Mooy, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Mooy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mooy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mooy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mooy paves the way for another one to be saved.
