Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Peaches
1 1/2 Year Old Female Cameo Tabby American Shorthair
homed in El Dorado Hills, CA
COURTESY POST
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.
Peaches is a beautiful spayed girl. She was bought from a west coast breeder earlier this year after her owners older American Shorthair passed. The couple expected the same personality of their other American Shorthair cats but Peaches, while very loving and sweet with them, is terribly shy around people she doesn't know. She is skittish, not confident, clingy and demanding and very vocal. Peaches owners could work with all this but Peaches mom has a physical condition and Peaches is just too much for her, definitely not the companion cat she needs. Also, her owners see Peaches as not truly happy with them and think she misses cat friends terribly and would do better in a home with another cat(s) for companionship and leadership. Unfortunately, Peaches owners only want one cat.
While all cats are individuals, in general the American Shorthair is a laid-back, affectionate kitty. Whether she'll spend hours in your lap purring or would rather sit nearby depends on her specific temperament, but she wants to be in your vicinity. She requires only basic cat care—this is no hothouse bloom. She's smart and accommodating. It shouldn't take her long to learn what's acceptable and what's not, such as furniture scratching. Buy her a scratching pad or post and, unlike some other cats, she should actually use it. It's easy to love your live-and-let-live cat.
