My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 06/26/2013: Well shiver me timbers! It seems as though someone's been telling some tall tales about me! It's been said I'm a barker... Well, blimey! My foster mom hasn't heard one peep come out of this dashing mug of mine. So how do you like that? She also says I'm the cutest pirate she ever did see. (I told her I was handsome, not "cute"). In any case, I'm still 5 years old, 6 lb and still live in Miami. (It's where my ship is docked). If you want the best treasure of your life, you come talk to me (or my FM who helped me type this, because pirates don't email. We send messages in bottles!)
Oh yes, I am almost totally blind. I can see shadows and can get around fine if I just go slow. FM is bringing me to a Dogtor who will check out my eye tomorrow and see what can be done for me. In the meantime, lemme remind you that I'm housetrained and love other dogs. I would never make them walk the plank!! Aaargh. Sending pirate love from Miami - Captain Jack xo

INITIAL BIO 06/21/2013: Ahoy Mates! My name is Captain Jack. I am 4-5 years old and weigh just 6 pounds. I am being fostered in Miami, FL.
My story is a little sad, but dot worry. It's gonna have a happy ending ;). See, I found myself as a homeless orphan at a South Florida high kill shelter. I got real excited when they told me I had an adopter. I had surgery so my boy parts would be different. I got all my vaccines (but I was so brave.).... But guess what. When they came for me, they didn't want me because I only have one eye. I had a second adopter who felt the same way. Then my UYR mommy came for me. (See, I told ya... It's getting better already, right?)
My eye was removed a while ago. I don't remember why. Maybe it was an injury? Anyway, I healed really nice and I do have another one . :) I was examined by the Dogter who says I need a dental BADLY. He said my other eye was ok, but FM says I don't see so well out of my "good" eye so we will figure it out.
Right now I'm taking applications for a new family if you know anyone looking for a cutie like me. P.S. I have a little separation anxiety, but its too early to tell. I'm in a new place, and I'm gonna need some time to feel comfortable..... But FM thinks no condos for me ;)
So... If you think you could be my happily ever after, let me FM know, okay??
xoxo - the Captain
