Corky's Story...
My name is Corky. ( my foster mom calls me Barklee) The vet thinks I’m 2-3 years old, and I’m a Golden/Corgi mix, or possibly bassett hound which is why my legs are so short. My previous family returned me to the shelter because I bark – who knew dogs barked!? I do bark, but only when the blinds are open and I see a person or a car or a dog or a cat…okay, I bark at everything I see out the window! That’s why I would make a great guard dog! In case you were wondering, I don’t bark or cry when I’m in my crate at night. I’m also potty trained! I enjoy going for walks, but I get tired quickly because of my short legs. Overall, I’m a pretty laid back dog who loves people and gets along great with other dogs. Im a great size for an apartment or for someone that loves the golden retriever breed but doesnt want a large dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Corky, a Nashville Golden Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
